Sprint Satellite Phones

Your choice of service would depend on your individual needs. Your location, the business you are involved in and the airtime you will need. Some satellite phone batteries last longer than others so you will need to look at the specifications of each model to ensure it fits your needs. The satellite phone markets are dominated by two main Companies which are Iridium and Globalstar. While Globalstar operates services in 120 countries then you will find that Iridium has no limited and can supply their service to all corners of the globe. There are other small Companies offering restricted services and these smaller networks consist of Inmarst and Thuraya. They all supply different levels of service with various tariffs so you will need to do a little research into the one that suits your needs better. Marine Satellite Phones: If you have ever seen yachtsmen and women sailing the most barren and dangerous waters on the planet then you can imagine the benefits of satellite communications. If you are working single-handed then your satellite phone is all you have to communicate with the outside World. Even this has not been enough on a variety occasions because the crafts are so far out that the emergency services have little chance of getting there even when time is so critical. Vehicle Static Satellite Phones: If your intention is to travel into remote areas accompanied by a vehicle which will be with you at all times then a vehicle static would be the perfect solution. If you need to leave the vehicle for any length of time then this may not be the most suitable. If you need this independence away from the vehicle then I would suggest the handheld would be more apt. Satellite phones are the perfect communication device when you are in an remote area and need a connection to the outside World. While the modern mobile phones send signals to communication masts which then redirects the signal to the other mobile phone user the satellite follows the same principle but on a greater scale. LEO satellites orbit the earth at high speed, low altitude orbits with an orbital time of 70–90 minutes, an altitude of 640 to 1120 kilometres (400 to 700 miles), and cater for coverage cells. A fixed installation, such as used shipboard, may include large, rugged, rack-mounted electronics, and a steerable microwave antenna on the mast that automatically tracks the overhead satellites.

Satellite News: Several other countries such as South Korea, Pakistan, Iran, Brazil and Egypt are in the early stages of developing their own small-scale launch capabilities, and seek to become 'minor' space powers - others may have the scientific and industrial capability, but not the economic or political will. The (artificial, though this is not stated in the blazon) satellite appears as a charge in the arms of Arthur Maxwell House.

GPS News: Sensors (for seismology or other monitoring application), can use GPS as a precise time source, so events may be timed accurately. Heavy Equipment can use GPS in construction, mining and precision agriculture.
