Satellite Phone

All people watching the news and media on the television have seen satellite telephones in action as the news correspondents relay up to the minute information back to the studio. There are often used in the most hostile and remote locations and are the only lifeline to the outside World in a variety of cases. Satellite phones are suitable for those people who work outside the limits that normal mobile phones operate. While we take the connection services of a mobile phone for granted these days thanks to a network of aerials conveniently located around the country the same unable to be said when we find ourselves in an isolated area. This is the type of situation that makes common mobile phones absolutely obsolete. The satellite phone markets are dominated by two main Companies which are Iridium and Globalstar. While Globalstar operates services in 120 countries then you will find that Iridium has no limited and can provide their service to all corners of the globe. There are other small Companies offering restricted services and these smaller networks consist of Inmarst and Thuraya. They all provide different levels of service with various tariffs so you will need to do a little research into the one that suits your needs better. A satellite telephone works on the very same principles as an everyday mobile telephone. Where the mobile phones collect and redirect signals via aerials that are located around the country the satellite phones signals take a much longer route. The signals from a satellite phone are sent to the satellite where it is then redirected to the communication station on the ground. From there it is simply relayed onto the mobile phone network or landlines depending on who you was calling. Satellite phones work on the same radio wave communication method as the common mobile phone. While mobile phones connect to an aerial mast conveniently placed by the telephone networks all over the country the satellite phones do exact the same except they work a little harder and have to go a little farther to make the connection. The two deployed LEO satellite systems are Iridium and Globalstar. Satellite phone (Inmarsat)The mobile equipment, also known as a terminal or earth station, varies widely.

Satellite News: The point where the satellite's orbit crosses the equator going south to north is called the ascending node. A satellite in a non-circular orbit doesn't move at a constant velocity so the mean anomaly doesn't point directly at the satellite.

GPS News: There has also been at least one well-documented case of unintentional jamming, tracing back to a malfunctioning TV antenna preamplifier. The GPS time scale is defined in an inertial system, but observations are processed in an ECEF (co-rotating) system, in which simultaneity is not uniquely defined.
